Before you ask, no, I’m not pregnant – BUT . . .
WE’RE ADOPTING!!!!!
To say we are excited would be the understatement of the century. If you have read about our infertility journey, you know we’ve been praying and praying and praying for a baby for a while now. We always knew we would be parents but we didn’t know how it would happen. It’s funny how when you’re a teenager and a young adult, you think you’ll just get married, have babies, and live happily ever after, but it’s just not always that easy. God has a different plan for each of us, and we know without a doubt that this is ours. We’ve always talked about adopting someday regardless of what happens with physically having babies. And ultimately we just don’t feel good about going the direction of IVF.
About the process . . .
There are many ways you can go about adopting, but this is how we are doing it after lots of research, discussion with experts, and prayer.
We’re adopting privately rather than going through an agency. We have an incredible social worker who is kind and helpful, and she is assisting us through the process, referring us to the right attorneys, and giving us all the resources we need. Because we’re adopting privately, we aren’t getting on a list or being matched with birth moms. This is where our dear friends and family and loved ones from all over come in! We will be finding our baby and birth mama through word of mouth. This means we would appreciate more than anything in the world if you would share our story with YOUR friends and loved ones, and if you know of a courageous young woman who is expecting and considering adoption, please put us in touch! This is the most important part and what we need help with most. We are so grateful for your support and encouragement throughout this process. THANK YOU!
In the adoption world there’s a phrase about “growing in our hearts,” and we feel that now. We already have so much love for this baby that will be ours but that we don’t even know yet. We are confident that Heavenly Father has a divine plan for our family, and we trust Him fully in this process, and in everything else too.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask! We are still very new to this world of adoption, but we are going to be as open as we can, as the support means the world to us.
Here’s to praying for a baby!
