Monterey/Carmel, CA

Do you ever get home from vacation and feel so tired and exhausted that you feel like you need a vacation from your vacation? Well we decided we needed that. So we booked a trip to Monterey before we made the trek back to Utah.
Monday morning after Christmas we left for Monterey. Jason had never been before!! I grew up going with my family and I love that place.
We started at the Aquarium, because you can’t go to Monterey without going to the aquarium. It was fairly crowded because of Christmas Break and all, but we got our fill and enjoyed the otters the most of course.
We had lunch at The Fish Hopper, thanks to Jordan and Magels for the recommendation.
It was delicious! The clam chowder was the best I’ve ever had! And my view wasn’t bad either 🙂
It couldn’t have been more beautiful while we were there. The weather, the beach, the company, everything was perfect.
This beach was just a short walk from our cottage. We stayed at the Sunset Inn in Pacific Grove. It wasn’t a luxury hotel or anything, but it was private and the location was awesome! It was a cute, private cottage with a fire place, jacuzzi tub, and a comfy bed. It couldn’t have been more perfect for our weekend getaway!
We spent one day in Carmel and it was the CUTEST! I couldn’t stop telling Jason how much I loved the quaint little town.
For dinner we both wanted Italian food SO bad. There were two restaurants we {I} couldn’t decide between. We decided on a restaurant called Cibo Ristorante Italiano. And it was a great choice. They had live Jazz music, and the food was just what we were looking for.
A relaxing few days on the coast eating incredible food was just what we needed.
